Thanks Amazon. Product is functioning wonderfully. It's what we needed for our system and was not available at local stores.
The price for this average router should be from $50 to $70. This is a low end router. This router works good if all you want is an Internet connection for casual surfing. Shortly after I open a port for forwarding traffic, the router locks up and I have to reset it.
Linksys has been selling good quality products but I am disappointed about the WRT350N. Not sure if it is sure but that's what the email said. But I am not so excited about getting the WRT600N either. Based on the review from other people, the WRT600N does not seem to be any better. I did not get a better reception than the 4 years old SMC router. In this case, I do not recommend it to anyone. After several months, it finally died and I couldn't get it up anymore, i.e. My son also complained about me paying so much for this piece of crap when comparing to the SMC router that I owned for more than 4 years.Every now and then I had to reset this router ever after upgrading to the latest firmware. never able to get to the http admin home page.Luckily, it has 3 years warranty, instead of getting a refurbished one of the same model, Linksys is sending me a refurbished WRT600N which suppose to me more expensive than the WRT350N.
Other than that, all router functions seem to work well, and the user interface is very good. Also, the setup wizard on the supplied CD didn't work with Windows XP, and I had to manually configure the router. This router has less range than my old Netgear Wireless-G router. Very dissapointing.
The Laptop came with a wireless card so only needed a menu setup and it was working, at least I could connect to the internet. I installed this to use with my Desktop (XP) and a Laptop (Vista), the Desktop wired, the Laptop wireless. Several days of internet research finally resolved it and now all works perfect. When I tried to set up file and printer sharing with my Desktop (the printer is connected directly to the desktop) I found the lack of any explicit instructions related to this was a problem for me. The wiring of the Desktop was easy, I installed the software, followed directions and startup went perfect (did need to call my ISP for one piece of info). The Desktop worked flawlessly.
